How to play the mazes

Everything parents, teachers and kids need to know: how to play, levels by age, racing friends and printing worksheets.

Playing

  1. Tap “Play now”. The first maze suits your child’s age; to change the age or level, open “Options”.
  2. Put a finger, the mouse or a pen on the character and drag it along the path to the goal.
  3. Walls always stop the line. If you slip, go back to the end of the line to carry on, or drag backwards to undo.
  4. Stuck? Tap “Hint” to see the next few steps, or open “Options” and choose “Show answer”.

On a computer you can also move with the arrow keys or W, A, S, D.

  3. When printing, choose A4 paper at 100% scale. The answer pages come last and show each sheet’s number and maze code.

Frequently asked questions

Does Maze Kids cost anything?

No. It is completely free, with no ads and no account needed.

Can my child play on a phone?

Yes. The mazes fit a phone held upright. Open “Options” and choose “Full screen” for bigger squares. The “Challenge” level works best on a computer or tablet.

Can every maze be solved?

Yes. Each maze is checked before it appears: there is always a path from the character to the goal, and the difficulty is within the range of the chosen level.

How do I play the same maze again?

Open “Options” and tap “Share” to get a link to that maze; opening the link brings back exactly the same maze.

Does the site collect information about my child?

No. Choices and race results are stored only on your own device. See the “Privacy” page for details.

Can children who cannot read yet play?

Yes. They only need to drag the character to the goal; pictures and sounds show them when they hit a wall and when they reach the goal.
